Large meter testing is an on-site comparative test
process that compares the subject meter's flow-usage against that
of a calibrated test meter. The test results are tabulated and made
into a three-page report with the written analyses supported by digital
photographs and graphs showing flow and performance analysis.
All performance curves are compared to the manufacturer’s
specifications. Nominal accuracy is within +/- 1.5% of the manufacturer’s
requirements. If repairs are indicated, these can be accomplished
while the team is on-site.
WMS also performs site surveys - non-invasive inspections of the meter-set
site. This is done to determine the condition of the vault and all equipment
concerned, such as valves, by-passes, test ports, and spools. Also assessed
are meter application, meter type and manufacturer, vault dimensions,
and lid type.
WMS’ professional consulting service provides the survey
of the customer's entire meter infrastructure on a meter-by-meter
basis. This determination is needed when the obvious repairs have
been made and the client needs to receive maximum ROI on his investment
dollars. These surveys are made without any invasive measurements
being taken within the meter infrastructure. Follow-on comparative
testing has proven that these surveys are accurate within 3 - 5%.
Additionally, the projective revenue gain will be given for each
and every meter within the infrastructures surveyed. Our experience
has shown this to be an excellent tool for budgeting if used on a
semi-annual basis. This is the most cost-effective tool available
today.
Automatic Meter Reading & Meter Replacement Project
Management
- Evaluate your current system to make project replacement decisions
- Initiate public relations programs to alert your customers of the
changes that affect them
- Properly schedule the planning process so that billing is not delayed
- Manage all aspects of the installation project
System Evaluation & Performance Analysis
When utilities are faced with unaccounted water (UAW) in their infrastructures,
finding the cause and extent is time consuming. WMS identifies the problems
that affect revenue, service and efficiency.
- Survey all meter installations while checking for improper installations,
undetected product failure and meter misapplications
- Conduct a system evaluation and performance analysis
- Conduct accuracy tests on master meters and identify non-metered
sites
- Create a complete status report including revenue gain/loss for
each meter
- Prioritize the problem areas and develop a cost-effective strategy
Test and Repair
- Identify the inefficiencies that lead to poor performance
- Develop cost-effective solutions that result in improved water
resource management
