Fiberglass, Tile and Masonry Inspection, Repair & Maintenance - Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs at plants and mills are designed to verify the integrity of tanks, vessels, and piping. Thielsch Engineering develops, implements and maintains PM programs through our PRIME Software system. We also offer a full range of inspection services on both metallic and nonmetallic components. Non-metallic inspection services include fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), tile and chemical-resistant masonry (CRM) equipment A variety of nondestructive examination techniques are available for evaluation of composite materials. These methods can be used independently or in conjunction with two or more techniques. The most common procedures for evaluating composite tanks include:
Most problems are readily detected through visual examination. Tile and brick linings, commonly referred to as chemical-resistant masonry (CRM), also require periodic inspection, which provides the opportunity to establish repairs to keep problems manageable. Costs escalate significantly when deterioration has reached the structural layer. Early detection and repair can minimize downtime and prevent product contamination. CRM can operate in severely deteriorated condition, but the more serious damage often occurs in hidden portions of the building and support structures. This form of collateral corrosion damage can lead to safety concerns and expensive structural repairs. Our engineering, management and preventative maintenance expertise assures safe, reliable operation of equipment while providing long-term savings. Call us to find out more about:
