Solis MPF Monoplate Pressure Filters Our new, fully-automated MPF Filters offer an attractive alternative to traditional, manually-operated horizontal plate filters. At the completion of a batch, collected solids are automatically removed through a discharge port at the side of the filter vessel. This greatly reduces and/or eliminates operator contact with slurries or collected solids. Filter downtime is minimized resulting in increased throughput. Filters will feature a pneumatically operated discharge port thus eliminating potential for contamination by hydraulic fluids. A VFD controlled agitator enables washing or reslurrying of solids. Standard material of construction is 316L SS. Alternative materials such as Hastelloy C-22 are available. Standard sizes range from 2.6 to 18.4 ft2. Solis MFD Monoplate Filter Dryers As a natural extension to our MPF filter line, our fully-automated MFD filter dryers feature many of the same ease-of-use design elements incorporated within the MPF filters. In addition to allowing for cake washing or reslurrying, the MFD filter dryers are designed to enable pressure or vacuum drying of collected solids. In addition to drying using gas purges, the telescoping agitator shaft, agitator paddles and filter vessel floor can be heated to enhance drying. As with the MPF line of filters, our MFD filter dryers feature a pneumatically operated discharge port to eliminate any potential for contamination by hydraulic fluids. Standard material of construction is 316L SS. Alternative materials such as Hastelloy C-22 are available. Standard sizes range from 2.6 to 18.4 ft2. Solis TPF Tubular Pressure Filters For applications where discharge of wet filter cakes or drying of solids is not required, our TPF backwash filters provide a high filter surface area to volume ratio. Collected solids are discharged using a gas-assisted backwash. Prior to backwash, solids can be washed or reslurried. The filtration, washing, reslurrying and backwash steps can be fully automated eliminating operator exposure. TPF filters contain cylindrical filter elements with single or multi-layer sintered metal media. Standard filter element material of construction is 316L SS, however alternatives include Monel, Hastelloy C, Alloy 20, and others. Standard filter sizes range from 3.5 to 300 ft2. Solis Retroplate Filter Leaves Thielsch is introducing a line of robust filter plates designed for direct retrofit into existing manually operated horizontal plate filters. Our Retroplate line is a heavy industrial construction to provide a sturdy, robust filter plate that is resistant to damage and distortion that occurs during repeated operation of the filter. The need for periodic replacement of plates is diminished or eliminated. The Retroplate line is designed to be used with all types of filter media and filter aids. Standard nominal sizes are 18" and 24". Thielsch Applications Testing Laboratory The Thielsch applications testing laboratory has all the capabilities required to analyze customer samples for suspended solids, particle size and turbitity. Additional sample characterization can be provided using scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray. Samples can be analyzed and subsequently evaluated for filterability using any of the filter media or configurations offered by our division. Following evaluation of samples, informed recommendations for scale-up or future evaluations are provided.
