Syngas Preparation - Syngas is a mixture of hydrogen and carbon oxide usually made by steam reforming of natural gas. It is as feedstock for a number of chemicals. Methanol - In addition to other basic uses, methanol can provide a source of motor fuel produced from a wide variety of raw materials other than oil. Methanol is 36% of MTBE, a leading pollution control and octane improver in reformulated fuels for the 21st century. Methanol can be made from natural gas, coal, biomass, even municipal waste. Thus, methanol from remote raw materials can be transported inexpensively to markets far from sources of large natural gas supply. JCE has provided project management and technical services on two world scale methanol projects and has recently prepared the specifications and feasibility study for a third project for MTD of methanol in Indonesia. Gas To Liquids (GTL) - One alternative fuel of the future is GTL. Produced from natural gas through a process called Fisher-Tropsch synthesis. JCE has been involved in preparing a process to generate syngas for the Fisher-Tropsch process, including cost estimation and equipment lists. For more information contact: |
